I got an elder camera that works with sd memorycard. I lost the usb cable for
it so i always putted the card in my cardreader. Now with vista it is asking
for a driver for that card and it doesn't even excist (transcend sd 45x
256mb). How can i make vista read my sd card??? Anyone knows??

Are you sure it is not asking for a driver for the Card Reader and not for
the card itself?
Does the card reader show up in device manager?

Good catch. Unfortunately Vista support seems very slim for card readers,
mine aren't supported and most likely won't be. They are inexpensive,
change models frequently and usually they don't bother with older models.
Hope he is lucky now that you pointed him in the right direction, otherwise
how much is a new cable.

I bought a portable computer and the first time i started it, it installed
everything automaticly. The cardreader is integrated in the portable, so i
asume that vista should know it or it should afterwards find it in the
programs. Buying a new usb cable is an option too, but i fear that the result
would be the same.

If it is integrated in your computer it should have had the drivers supplied
by the manufacturer if necessary, and they usually are. Do you show a
driver in device manager or is the device ! out. Most usb cameras, even one
I have had 7-8 years ago would be picked up as 'devices with removable
storage' and act pretty much like a thumb drive. Buy where you can return
it if it doesn't work.
