SCSI problem.....

Hello all,

I had server shipped from spain to the usa and the inside is all SCSI. I dont know much about SCSI and the computer is not booting up. When it boots I get the dell screen which then moves to another screen where the processor speed is writtin and the copyright info is listed and the screen does not move forward from here. The screen is not frozen at this point the computer just does not go to the next screen. I know it is not frozen because at the top right of the screen it says to press f2 for setup and f10 for system utilities and when I press f2 or f10 it will say entering but it never does if the pc was frozen it would not say entering when i press f2 or f10 also If I wait at the screen for 10 minutes expecting a boot up which never occurs I can press ctrl alt delete and it will reboot further stating that the pc does not freeze. If I remove the memmory I get a beep telling me that the mother board is looking and cannot find memmory this also this tells me that the memmory and motherboard are okay. If I unplugg the floppy, tapedrive and cdrom at the second screen where the processor specs are written it will say error no floppy found and error 0 no cdrom found but thats it it will not boot to the harddrive. This tells me that the motherboard is doing self checks to find devices and boot devices so why doesnt the server boot into the OS. Any ideas??... Im calling the manufacture of the pc tomarrow.

I dont know much about SCSI and the computer is not booting up. When

where the processor speed is writtin and the copyright info is listed
and the screen does not move forward from here. The screen is not

I know it is not frozen because at the top right of the screen it says
to press f2 for setup and f10 for system utilities and when I press f2

would not say entering when i press f2 or f10 also If I wait at the

It seems you have done all the correct things. The system is not
finishing POST so it is a hardware problem. It may not be finishing the
BIOS load. It also sounds like you never see the SCSI BIOS screen so it
could also be a problem related to the SCSI controller. I would move the
controller to another slot and see what happens. Also just remove the
controller. If you don't get an additional error then you will know the
BIOS POST never finishes and it is a motherboard problem.

K I have done that before and it does not finish the post.. Its just what are the odds that this happening when the server is shipped and the fear of an unknown computer component in the mix like SCSI was leaving me thinking that something else could be done that I may have over looked but I Guess not and Thank you vermuch for the post :)
