SCSI CD-Drive Problem w/XP (Yamaha CRW-4416S-NB

I have an old Yamaha SCSI CDRW (CRW-4416S-NB model) with
an old adaptec pci scsi card (AIC-7855) that I am trying
to get to work with Win-XP. XP recognizes the scsi
adapter card just fine, but instead of seeing one CDRW
scsci drive, it sees 7 drives (LUN #'s 0-7) and none of
them work right. XP does list the Yamaha drive on device
manager as CRW-4416 - but installs 7 of them instead of
1. I have played with different cd-drive scsi ID's and
with different terminator settings (and a different
cable) - but nothing seems to work. Anyone have any ideas
on this - I'm stumped ????

Hi

Go to bart's page and download the ASPI drivers from adaptec.co
http://www.nu2.nu/aspi
You can also try to get the latest XP compatible scsi drivers from adpatec for your scsi card

Hope it helps

Pete
