scrolling textbox bug?

Hi

Win2000 SP4 / IE6.0.2800.1106

i guess since a recent update/patch i am having problems with textboxes.
if the box is of a size where it has scroll up/down arrows (active) then
using mouse to scroll down causes bar to jump to 'nearly' the bottom.
pressing up it jumps up a bit then falls back. drag it anywhere and ok until
you hit up or down. mouse wheel works as before. (ok)

http://www.mds.cc/ie6/textbox.html simple text box with many lines so scroll
bar shows. (i put this up as i cannot remember all the sites i have come
across this issue.)

NS7 works ok on same machine.

ME machine same problem with same version of IE6, ok NS7 and Opera.
XP machine same problem with same version of IE6, no NS or Opera.

NB. if you don't see scroll bars add a few more carriage returns in textbox.

This is due to a bug in critical update 824145.
Work arounds:
Click immediately under the slider.
Drag the slider.
Use the mouse wheel.
Use the Page Down and Page Up keys.

Thanks Frank.

I guess a fix will eventually come along.
(i already started using the mouse wheel but too many years "not" so its
hard to get use to other ways for me!)
