hi,
I want to make a presentation display with a ticker tape or continuous
scrolling text displayed on the bottom of the screen, I want to be able to
loop the text and edit it as I need.

Hm. I don't know that you can do a continual scroll in PPT 2000. And if
you add editing into the mix, it will definitely take VBA.

In PPT 2002/2003, you could do a continual scroll pretty easily,
although editing it would be tough.

http://tinyurl.com/32wno (an old newsgroup thread) might give you some
ideas, though. Sunday Plus and Take-Off Data Point are both programs
mentioned for this type of thing.

Googling for threads on Church and another on Ticker Tape turned up
these additional ideas --

You could set a web page to be displayed within the PowerPoint slide.
The
web page would display the ticker. Take a look at this free add-in to
display web pages in a PowerPoint show. LiveWeb:

Bill D. mentioned this: I think that the Song Show worship program has
the ability to place a ticker tape display across the screen for just
this sort of thing.

resorting to VBA, add-ins and/or ActiveX controls..
