scrolling in XP pro?

I am looking for a way to disable the scrolling/ripple effect in Windows XP Pro. I have used XP home previously and this was not a feature of that version. It seems to be the default in XP Pro but I can't find a way to disable it. Any help would be appreciated.

What scroll/ripple effect? None of my XP Pro installations have that.
Are you sure you installed drivers for your video card when you went
from Home to Pro? Get the drivers from the device mftr.'s website, not
from Windows Update.
