Scrolling problems - slow

Recently my computer started scrolling differently - i.e. it is slow and
scrolls in a "ripple" effect. Also, the login/logout/welcome screen (with
all the user names) fades in instead of appearing immediately like it used
to. Any ideas? Thanks.

Here are a few things to try. Do one thing at a time and test after each
change. Obviously if one thing works, you don't need to do the rest
since you now have The Answer.

1. Update the drivers for your video card from the device mftr.'s
website (not from Windows Update).

2. Open the computer and reseat the video card.

3. Connect the computer to a different monitor.

4. Swap out the video card with a known-working one.
