scroll text

I need to scroll a long list of words up the screen. I tried credits as the
custom animation and it worked perfectly for about 5 seconds, but then
stopped with 90% of the words still to come. Any tips?

Instead of Credit, use Motion path; you can ajust exactly the lenght, the
speed...

Thanks for the ideas. My problem was the length of the list - an A to Z of
occupations, about 200 lines long! But the link for long credit lists has
shown me the way.

One more question - when I do a series of cut and pastes, it gets tedious
having to also select the Retain source formatting option every time. Is it
possible in PowerPoint to change the default setting for that option?

I've struck a problem. I've followed Bill Dilworth's template step by step
including downloading list list of members of Congress. Very nifty! But
mine has two differences from his:
1st, my text boxes scroll up from the bottom but don't disappear at the top.
2nd, text box 2 appears while text box 1 is still scrolling, so they overlap.

As far as I can tell, I have copied the timing and delay settings exactly
from Bill's example.

Put all of your text boxes above the slide. that way they will not be on the
screen when they finish their entrance.

Hi PeterK

Cut & paste of text boxes? Once you've added one box and retained
formatting, right click the box and select 'set as default text box' (2007)
or 'set autoshape defaults' (2003). I think that should do it for you.
