Scroll Bar Problem

M

Mike Schumann

In the last few days, I noticed a strange new problem with the scroll bars
on my Windows XP laptop.

When I click above or below the slider in the scroll bar, the visible data
is suppose to scroll on page up or down. This used to work fine.

Now, when I click in the scroll bar, the data scrolls significantly more
than a page at a time. This is extremely annoying.

Does anyone know what may be causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks,

Experimenting further, it's almost like when I click in the scroll bar,
Windows thinks that I clicked twice (not double clicked).

Very weird - and annoying.

Hey Mike, Funny you should post this problem, it has just recently
begun happening to me as well. I have found that if you click just
under the button on the scroll bar it will only go down one screenful,
but if you click further down in the bar it will scroll multiple
screens. No solution, I know, but it makes the problem easier to live
with.

Hi.

I have same problem. It's only started in the last week or so. VERY
annoying - easy to miss important information on a long page. Only seems
to affect explorer/iexplorer windows - MS-Office products seem to scroll
correctly.

Anyone know of cause? Is it a virus, or a bug introduced within a recent
hotfix?

Is there a quick-fix solution?

Cheers,
Alan
