Suddenly, my vertical scroll bar started paging by more than a whole page. I have looked throught all of the settings that I can find but nothing seems to be appropriate. Does anybody know how to change it?
When looking at a web page or a page of text in Word and I hit the scroll bar to scroll down a page, it normally leaves at least a line of overlap to the next page. Now it actually pages down several lines into the next page and I have to scroll back up a few lines to pick up where I left off
I went through the control panel and tried system and display settings but nothing seemed to be appropriate to my problem.

This behavior is just one of several artifacts of the IE 6 Security rollup (Q824145 / KB824145 patch) you most likely just installed from Windows Update
About the only thing that seems to fix it is to uninstall the patch from Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs
