Script error in Help files after system repair

after motherboard upgrade (from Celeron to Athlon), i've successfully brought up my winxp prof after running system repair. now, most things run smoothly, but not for viewing help files in CHM format.

there seems something wrong with executing the scripts in help files. one obvious symtom is, many links (e.g. the "Properties", "Methods" links on top of the help file for any object) become small squares with a small dot in the middle. when clicking on some links that excute scripts (e.g. those that would display supplementary information in a separate small window), i got IE Script Error like this:

Line: 1
Char: 1
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
Code: 0
URL: mk:@MSITStore:E:\Program%20files\Microsoft%20Office\Office\1033\VBAWRD9.CHM::/html/wotocObjectModelApplication.htm
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

is there any patch or repair program i can apply to solve the problem? thank you very much.

You can fix this by installing Critical Update 811630, which is available from here:

For an explanation of why the problem occurs, see Knowledge Base article 822989.
