I have a couple of different programs (Solidworks, etc) that use CHM files.
In these files there are some links for examples of code or to other parts
of the file. No matter what link I click in the help file I get a script
error saying that there was an error starting at Line 1 and Character 1 and
do I want to debug.

The computers are all Windows 2000 SP4, IE 6, Office 2000, and all have the
latest windows updates.

Hello Jordan,
I have a couple of different programs (Solidworks, etc) that use CHM files.
In these files there are some links for examples of code or to other parts
of the file. No matter what link I click in the help file I get a script
error saying that there was an error starting at Line 1 and Character 1 and
do I want to debug.

I think the script used inside the compiled CHM may not work correctly.

Make a right mouse click in the topic pane and have a look at the HTML code
for the links you described.

A special newsgroup for helpauthoring (also CHM's) is out there and may be
useful for you:
microsoft.public.helpauthoring
