Script 5.6 install "access is denied"

I am attempting to install Windows Script 5.6 on an XP SP2 machine (I am the
admin of this box) but am getting the error message "INF Install Failure.
Reason: Access is denied."

I have found only one hit on Google referencing this problem with no answers
posted to the question. Does anybody have any ideas?

Wrong permissions over a registry key/file/folder may cause that problem:

Use Regmon (http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Regmon.html), filter by
"ACCESS DENIED" and run the installation program to discover the "culprit"
key. If no joy, use Filemon
(http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Filemon.html) the same way.

"ACCESS DENIED" (without the quotation marks).

I ran the Script 5.6 install three consecutive times. The first two times I
got the error message with the "access is denied" warning - regmon did not
show anything. The third time it worked.
