Screenshots of DOS windows

I have noticed that Windows' screenshot facility from the PrintScreen
key does not work for programs run in the console in full-screen mode.
Worse than that, Ifranview and other programs that have screenshot
capability also do not work. I am running an old EGA video game and I
am trying to get some screenshots.

Suggestions? Print Screen results in a bunch of random black characters
on a white background when pasted into Paint, whereas Ifranview and the
other programs just give a black square.

there is a dos emulator program called dosbox http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/
use that to run your games in a window mode and use screencapture or even
better winsnap 1.1 (not 2 because its shareware
