Cheri. The screensavers you refer to were not actually part of Windows
(98 or otherwise) but rather part of a package called Windows Plus.
Some of the computer manufacturers included it, at no cost, as a mean of
getting you to buy their brand. For a while stand alone copies of
Windows Plus were for sale, but I can't find any now. Free screen
savers are a risk. By the way, screen savers no longer are required to
save the screen. New monitors don't burn like the old monitor did.
Screen savers function only as entertainment now.

Thank you, I appreciate the helpful response, and I have decided not to
download any of the free ones. You're right, I don't need them.

The videos included with the ultimate edition are okay but they do use
up some processing power, (These are animated wallpapers rather than
screensavers per-se) you might search for vista ultimate extras and see
if anyone is doing a version that can be downloaded separately. You are
very sensible to avoid many of the "Free" things and I just loved the
replies to some of the idiots here with nothing to add except sarcasm
