Hi Bill.

I have the same problem with XP Home, SP2...and looked for the fix that you
provided in your message but never could find it. Do you have one for XP ?
and could you provide a link to it. Many thanks...Ponder

I haven't found any evidence that there's an equivalent update for XP to the
one for Vista. If there were, I would expect it to be offered as an
optional update--so with the wireless devices connected and running, try
doing a custom scan at WindowsUpdate and see whether anything useful is
offered.

Thanks Bill.

I did find that I have a couple of Cyberlink Applications in the start up
group. After unchecking them, the screensavers are all working. Thanks
again for your help. I will see what is offered at Windows
Update..Custom......Ponder

Well I did find that MS HID non-user input data filter is offered for XP at
custom updates. After installing, and adding the Cyberlink apps back to the
start up group, rebooting, and guess what....The screen savers are all
contiuing to work...so the MS update fixed it!!!! Thanks again for your
help....Ponder

Excellent--and thanks for posting this back. I had thought I'd seen that
myself, but wasn't sure, so I haven't been posting that it is available.
Glad to hear that it is.

If Stephen Boots is reading this, I wonder whether this optional patch is
effective for the screensaver related issues with the newest OneCare?

I thought that i was the only person in the world with this problem..........
i looked at the third party (clean boot) option thought what a pain......not
only that but i didnt want to remove any other software. SO I READ DOWN THE
ARTICLE AND TRIED THE "HID non-user input data filter is offered for XP at
custom updates" . OH YEAH INSTANT SUCCESS. THANKS A MILLION
STEVE

Thanks for letting us know. This is the beauty of newsgroups or web
forums--the original questioner gets their problem fixed, and for each such
exchange, perhaps hundreds of others may read, over time, and get their
answer as well.
