Since installing Vista I cannot get the screensaver to run, or the monitor
to turn off I am in the High Performance category and my display should
turn off after 10 min. The screen saver should come on after 5 min. I have
tried all screen savers and they work in preview but not by timer. Anyone
else having this or anyone know of a cure?

Do you have a wireless mouse? If you do:

Make sure your mouse's wireless receiver is plugged in and active (this is
important). Go to Control Panel (Classic View) > Windows Update. Click on
Check for Updates. Choose to install the Optional Hardware Update called
"Microsoft HID Non-User Input Data Filter". Your screensaver, with a
wireless mouse, should now work.

Thanks for your quick response. You nailed the problem and the fix worked as
you posted thanks again.
