Screensaver problem

I am having a problem with my screensaver. I tried to change the time on the
screensaver and then applied. The screensaver will not activate at intervals
any more than a 1 minute time span. If I have it set at 1 minute the
screensaver will activate. If I change that time to anything other than a
minute, say 2 minutes or more the screensaver will not work. Does anyone out
there know how to fix this problem?

I have this **EXACT** same problem Ivan. My powersave also never goes on,
I'm thinking this could be related. I dont have a wireless mouse, nothing is
running in the background, I dont have a DVD player, and I looked into the
registry, everything is all clear, I've tried numerous screen savers and I
get them to turn on at 1 minute, but anything more and nothing. Also if
something happens, like someone sends me a message, the screen saver turns
off and then does not come back on. What can I do? I dont want my monitor
to burn out...

Screensavers are not needed to protect the monitor for modern monitors.
They are just for show.

Meghan,
I still have not found a fix for the problem. I am believing that it must
be a conflict with something connected to the computer or another software
issue that may be conflicting with other software that I have loaded. I know
of two things, one the computer I am on doesn't have that problem. Two, the
one that does have the problem has two usb devices connected to it, a mouse
and a usb printer copier scanner combo. I am going to reload the system and
leave those things off of it and see what happens. If the problem goes away
then it must be one or both of those devices. I will try to load them again
and if the problem re-occurs then I will know which of those are causing the
problem. I am about to load the printer combo onto my home network that will
eliviate that device from the equation. I will keep you posted if I do find
the problem. Do you have a usb printer connected to your computer? How
about a usb mouse or any usb devices?
