My screensaver and power options no longer work. I have reset them and
changed them, but the screensaver will not come on, and also my power
settings do not work. This happened only recently....

look at these suggestions

By golly, it worked. Can't thank you enough. After reading the article and
following it's directions my screen saver seems to be operating correctly.
Thanks again

I did everything you suggested but it did not work. Mr screen saver fails
to
activate after the time it is set for. I was really hoping that would
work
but alas, it did not.

Hello. If you are using a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard/Mouse, do the
following:

1. Hit START, RUN, Msconfig and press ENTER.
2. When the System Configuration Utility is displayed, click on the
STARTUP
tab.
3. Uncheck the entry next to "EHTRAY.EXE.
4. Apply the change.
5. Restart you Computer.
6. Your Screensaver wll now work.]

This is regular problem if you use a microsoft wireless mouse or
keyboard
and the Media 05...most forums have reported it. There isnt a fix as
yet but a couple of other ways around it

Have a read of this
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;911895

On mine if I go to msconfig/startup and untick "ehtray" my screensaver
will
work until I start the media centre 2005

7. EHTRAY is an optimizer program for Media Center that is not
required.
You won't notice any change in performance.
