Hello all,
After installing a new ati Radeon 9600SE AGP video card, my screensaver is
now
behaving like this;
a) runs 10 minutes after reboot (as it should if there is no activity) but
does not cut in a second time if there is not a program open (i.e. the
desktop is still showing.)
b)runs normally when an application is open.
I have checked the registry values (after a visit to Kelly's website) and
they seem to be properly set. The filepath is ok and the screensaver name
(ssmypics) is also fine, (No problematic quotation marks either.) I also ran
sfc /scannow ( after running sfc /purgecache).... nothing.
I have not seen any info on the ati website regarding a problem with the
card. I've got the latest drivers and been
over the CMOS several times, all the changes stipulated in the manual are
ok. The card works fine (no problem with the display). Screen resolution is
1024 by 768 @85 hz . My system P3, 384mb ram, 864 Mhz, single monitor.
Fast user switching and welcome screen enabled.
Out of ideas!
Any help appreciated.
