screensaver hot key help

I'd like to be able to bring my screensaver up immediately with a hot key . .
.. (my 3 year old daughter likes to look at the slide show). I know it can be
done - I had the feature at work; when I searched, I found the following
(cut/pasted below) info, but creating this shortcut brings me to the user
log-in screen . . .

I'm using XP Professional, version 2002, service pack 2 (if that means
anything)

Any advice??

Thanks so much!!

Hello ArisMom

The simplest way is to right-click on the desktop and select New >
Shortcut. Browse to C:\Windows\System32\ssmypics.scr. When the new
shortcut appears, right-click it, choose Properties and assign a hotkey
to it (Ctrl + something). Alternatively you could drag the shortcut onto
your Quick Launch bar.

The drawback to this method (it may not be a problem in your case) is
that you need to make a new shortcut every time you change the
screensaver. So instead I use a tiny freeware program called Wizmo.

Wizmo (short for Windows Gizmo) is by Steve Gibson of grc.com and can
perform a lot of handy tasks, but I use it just to invoke the
screensaver from a shortcut on my Quick Launch bar. Of course if you
prefer you could use a desktop shortcut and launch it with a hotkey.

Download from here: http://www.grc.com/default.htm

Add a shortcut to your desktop or Quick Launch bar, as preferred, and
set the Properties > Target box to read:
C:\Windows\wizmo.exe blank

Then add a hotkey combination if wanted.

Hope this helps.
