I just need to know how to "shift" the visible part of
the screen to the right on my computer. I have a black
vertical line about 1 inch wide and the view of the left
hand side of my screen is obstructed. How do I just
shift the entire screen? I dont have the old monitor
where you could use the buttons at the bottom of the
monitor.

All monitors have some method of making screen adjustments. Are you sure
you don't have some knobs or buttons hidden by a panel or door on the front
of the monitor? Have you tried making these adjustments using the Display
Properties applet? Right click a vacant area of the desktop and choose
Properties then click the Settings tab. You may have adjustment
capabilities in there.
