Screen Saver will not start up

My computer is only a week old and at not time since I have had it can I get
the screen save to activate on its own at the time set. I can change it and
run the preview just not get it to run on its own.

I have made sure I have service pack 2 and that outlook express does not
check for new mail like some of the help files suggest and its made no
difference so any idears would be great
 
Is this a default screen saver, or one you installed?
You've checked Power Options?
 
I have tried the default and down loaded plus Iv installed one and they sill
dont work. With the power options, that does not work ether. I have shut the
computer down after apply setting to make sure they take as well.
 
The only thing that I can get to work is webshots were the desk top pic
changes every 15 min but the web shots screen saver wont come on.
