screen saver not running

The screen saver on my computer does not engage. I am running windows XP
home and have set all the settings in comtrol panel for proper operation.
The previews work when adjusting the settings.

Any advice.

one with a tail the screensaver works.â€

â€I got a fix. I changed to connection to the computer using the USB to PS2 adapter that came with
the mouse. Now I get the screensaver. I would be interested to find out why this works.â€

Another checkpoint - make sure that a program is not causing the computer to remain active. You may
have a program running in the background that springs into life when the computer is idle.
