Screen Saver in W2k

Andy

Hi---

Mu family has recently upgraded to W2k-Professional. We
were very disappointed to learn that Underwater was not a
screen saver option (it is either underwater or
undersea--the one with the fish).

so we had two ideas--both of which are not working out so
well---

1) we thought we would just add in the screen saver, BUT
screen saver does not offer an option to browse and add
your own things like wallpaper does.
a) give that we could not do this we could not go ahead
with our idea of grabing Underwater from our Win98 disk and
loading it as our screen saver... ALSO we could not find
Underwater on the Win98 disk---it is there in the screen
saver list--but can't find it on the disk.
b) we also though of buying or downloading a screen saver,
but again we can not figure out how to add your own option
in as a screen saver----

so----

a) is it possible to load your own screen saver, one not
listed as an option, in the same way you can put up your
own wallpaper? if so, how?

b) where on the WIn98 disk can we find the undersea (or any
other) of the screen savers?

thanks--please contact us directly at our e-mail--as we do
not check this group often---the e-mail has been modified
as suggested in the MS directions

afb (removethis)@u.washington.(removethis).edu

thanks again--

You just pop the screensaver file in C:\Windows\system32.

What it is called the Fish screensaver on Windows 98 not sure. The file may be in a cab. Seems it would be easy enough to grab it out of a system set up with Windows 98 if you can.

I think it is called aquarium??? So it would be aquarium.scr

..scr files are screensavers.

I don't remember seeing that one on my Windows 98 - perhaps it depends which
version you have. I had the first edition. There are one or two Aquarium
freeware screensavers though, you may want to try out a few. Most of them
actually install, otherwise just look for your other .scr files and put the
new one in the same folder.
