Screen Saver fails to show

Running XP Pro on a Dell 8300.

I have screen saves set to 3D text at 20 minutes. It shows fine when I click
on preview, but when the computer sits idle just a blank screen shows after
20 minutes.

Any ideas?

You probably have your power options set for the monitor to turn off in 20
minutes. If you want to see your screen saver, set the monitor to go off
later (or never) or the saver to turn on sooner. Go Control Panels: Power
Options: Power Scheme: and select the time interval for the monitor to
blank.
