Screen rolls abruptly.

OS: Windows 2000 Professional

I have a problem where the screen moves/scrolls abruptly
without anybody clicking anything. Also, when tried
scrolling via mouse it moves randomly as if mouse has no
control over it. This happens for all applications.

I ran virus scan and there are no viruses. Also, tired
running Microsoft's latest updates but no difference. I
would really appreciate if someone can shed some light on
how to fix this issue.

Try another mouse... sounds like a mouse failure to me.

I have experienced the same thing - and attributed it to
the mouse. I am running Intellimouse Explorer.

Usually a good shake of the mouse helps. I know that is
not really a good solution, but it seems to work.
