screen resolution

A CD-Rom I purchased has asked me to increase my screen resolution to
1024x768. I am not very computer literate, could somebody please tell me how
to do this?

Control Panel
Display
Settings tab
Move the slider arrow to 1024x768

I didn't even know I could do that and now it looks much better
