screen resolution

Hello,
I have just re-installed a copy of win 2000
professional. All seems ok apart from the fact that it
will not let me have a higher screen resolution than 800 x
600. I know that my monitor suppports higher resolutions
because I had a higer resolution with my last version of
win 2000 that I overwrote. Also I have a dual operating
system and my other operating system allows higher
resolutions.

Any ideas what has happened and how can I fix it.

Regards

hi,

have you manually re-installed the drivers for your
graphics card since your re-install? if 2000 didn't detect
it then you may have to do that.

Go get current drivers. W2K is reliable and stable,
except it doesn't support enough hardware on its own.
Every item I've ever installed on my W2K system, I've had
to go find current drivers so W2K can use the item
correctly.

Don't know if you've tried this already but maybe you could
try downloading the specific video drivers for your video
card, then try to change your resolution.
