screen resolution warning message

I am getting warning messages saying "The selected screen resolution is not
optimal for this display device. Consider using 1280 x 800 to ensure the
best viewing experience". However, when I check my display settings, it
shows I am set up for 1280 x 800. Do you know why I would be getting this
error message?

Hi Colleen,

Go to the web site of the display adapter manufacturer. Download the latest
version of the appropriate display driver for your system. Uninstall the
current software using the Control Panel/Programs and Features. Reboot, then
install the software you download (after which, you will likely need to
reboot again).

Not Me

Many times that is built into the LCD monitor.
You can turn it off from the monitor OCD menu.

Consult the manual (or the manufacturer's website) that came with the
monitor.

Not Even Me

I had a monitor that told me that at every boot, but the message was coming
from the monitor, not from Windows.
Once Windows was booted, the res was set properly, but during boot, the BIOS
on the video card wasn't using 1440x900, so the nag kicked in.
I turned off the nag in the monitor settings.
