Screen resolution keeps changing

Hello,

I've got a laptop with XP Pro and an external monitor. I'm set up as the
administrator. Everyday when I start up, I have to go into Display Settings
and change the screen resolution to 800 x 600. I apply it and click OK and
it stays at that resolution until the next time I restart, then it reverts
back to 1280 x 1024 which is too small for me to read. Every other computer
I've ever had stayed at the resolution I set. Why won't this one? I have
not removed it from the docking station. Thanks for the help.
