Hello,

I just re-installed Windows XP on a Dell machine. Now, when I
restart, the screen resolution and color depths are both very low.
However, when I go to the Control Panel -> Appearance and Themes ->
Change the Screen Resolution, the only options under settings are "640
x 480 pixels" and Lowest (4 bit) for color, and there are no other
options I can select from.

This is odd because i have used this monitor with other computers and
am able to get much better screen resolution and 16 bit color.

What can I do to add new settings to my menus?

Thanks, - Dave

It sounds like you haven't installed the video drivers yet. That's the
place to start.

Look on the Dell applications and drivers CD for the drivers for your
system. The Service Tag on the system will also help you at the Dell site
to identify and download the correct drivers if you don't have the disk.
