Screen Resolution 1440 x 900 No Longer Available

I have a 19 inch widescreen monitor and up until today I was able to set the
resolution to 1440 x 900. However, when I switched on my PC today, the
resolution has changed to 1360 x 768 and I no longer have the option on the
slidebar for 1400 x 900.
I have updated the drivers for my graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE
nForce 430) but still no luck.

Please help

Thanks for responding Gordon

I have just the standard default Microsoft Driver dated 6/06/2001 Version
5.1.2001.0
I've tried to update that also, but it tells me there is no better match
than the one I currently have installed.

If I try to "roll back" a message tells me that there are no driver files
backed up & to try troubleshooter (which doesn't help)

any ideas?

Seems odd. Have you tried the monitor manufacturers site for drivers, or did
you get a disk with the monitor.

Was there some other system software component you updated.

I had an annoying problem in that under Vista I had more widescreens
resolutions available than under XP, which I needed for games.

You might be better off asking in a hardware group about this one, unless
you can link it to a windows update or something.

The only other thing I could suggest is a system restore point.

Thanks for responding Dobey!

I managed to get a responce from NVIDIA themselves & they told me to try and
add a custom resolution via the NVIDIA control panel, which worked
beautifully! (you also need to use the monitor's "Auto adjust").

Hope this helps others with the same problem.
