Screen res-Can't see anything to change back

Andy

Help please!

I've accidentally changed my display settings (on my other
PC), and am getting the monitor error message "out of
frequency range , set resoluiton lower etc" when XP
starts. I can't see anything to revert back to my old
settings. Can someone guide me through the key-strokes to
change my settings?

Unfortunately for me I don't use XP on this computer, so I
can't copy the keystrokes.

Thanks

Hi

Boot into Safe Mode and then change the settings there.

I've done that, Safe mode now runs with a higher
resolution but I still have the same problem when re-
booting. Any ideas?

Control Panel/Display/Settings Tab (change resolution))/Advanced/Monitor Tab
and change screen refresh rate.

Hi

In Safe Mode change the setting 800x640, then try booting into 'normal'
mode.

Thanks for your help all, I've sorted the problem.
Luckily I installed something this morning so I had a
restore point I could use. Thanks again, Andy.

Greetings --

Reboot into VGA mode and then set your display's resolution,
number of colors, and refresh rate to those recommended by the
monitor's manufacturer.

Hi Andy,

In Safe Mode, right click the
Desktop/Properties/Settings/Advanced/Monitor/60 Hertz.
