Screen Freezes when using clip art for Word 2007

Each time I try to use the clip art function in Word 2007, my screen freezes
up. The only way to unlock this is to go to Task Manager and end task.

Hi J.P,

For Office 2007 the clipart engine basically tries to access the online graphics collection and if it's not been given access
through the firewall you can see this behavior (not just in the 2007 version) while the clipart manager app is trying to connect to
where it thinks the pictures are :).

If you let it sit for about 5-10 minutes does it 'let go'.

This was kind of helpful - tells us where the potential problem might be.

Do you have a solution on either how to allow Firewall access or to disable
Word attempting to access online.

Thanks in advance,
Elliot.

This freeze up problem happens to me all the time on all systems running
Word 2007. These messages are from November, has anyone figured out how to
fix this? It's quite frustrating to have to reboot every time. The Clip Art
works in Excel, so I open that, pick the Clip Art I want, then cut/paste to
Word. I have the same question as Bruno1.
