Screen freezes on blue screen with Windows XP logo

I can't get my computer to go past the blue screen with the Windows XP logo
on it (it just freezes). I have shut down many times hitting keys from F1 -
F12 on no matter what I do I keep getting the same thing? When I go to F12 I
do get the options of: Normal, Floppy, Hard Disk, Drive C, LAN, System
Startup, IDE Drive, Diagnostics, Boot to Utility Partition. I have went into
each and still nothing new. Also on F8 I get all of the Safe Mode options but
when I go to any of them I keep getting the same blue screen just fuzzier.
Could someone please assist me? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

If you can't boot up in any of the safe modes, then try a repair
install. Reboot the computer with the XP installation CD. Bypass the
first repair, that takes you to the repair console, and continue into
setup. It should give you an option to repair the current installation.

What occurred before this problem that triggered it? Did you install
hardware or software?

Thanks for the advice. Prior to this problem I had just ran a virus scan and
it deleted all virus detections. After that I restarted my computer and since
then I can't get past the blue screen with Microsoft logo on it. I have taken
your advice but even with the installation CD I still can't get past the blue
screen.

Thanks,

Kulada

You can't boot at all with the XP CD? Try downloading the six set up
boot disks for XP.

Another option is on a working XP system create a BartsPE boot CD.
Include in it the AV and antispyware plugins. Try booting from that
disk and see if you can clean the system. If that works, then reboot
into safe mode and run the cleaners again.

I think I will have to take my computer to the shop. I am still not able to
get past the blue screen with logo on it even under safe mode. Until I can
bypass the blue screen I can't boot from any CD. I have 2 computers in my
home they are connected through a wireless connection for the net. Is there a
way that I can fix the other computer through this computer? Thanks again for
your help.

Did you download and create the six floppy set up boot disks I gave you
the link for?
