I am running Windows XP Pro...the screen is not as bright as I would like it
to be...I've tried using the on-monitor adjustments to no avail...how can I
adjust the screen brightness, gamma, contrast etc. from Windows XP...

Hi,
Right click a blank area on your desktop and then choose Properties.
When the Display Properties window opens up click on the Settings Tab.
Then click on the Advanced Options and look through the tabs and see if
there's a brightness/gamma/contrast adjustment.
Note, not all video cards/drivers allow this sort of adjustment.

If Gary's suggestions don't help, it may be time for a new monitor. What
monitor do you have, and how old is it?
