Scheduled task error 0x8007007a in Windows XP

I am running Windows XP Home Edition:
Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1 Build 2600

Problem -
Using the Scheduled Task Wizard I follow all the input
steps including entering a password for the User Name,
but then I get the Task Scheduler error message:

The new task has been created, but may not run because
the account information could not be set.
The specific error is:
0x8007007a: The data area passed to a system call is too
small.

Trobleshooting Steps Performed -
I have gone through the Administrative Tools app in
Control Panel and opened the Computer Management/Services
and Applications/Task Scheduler and verified that the
Scheduler Service status is Started, the startup type is
Automatic, the LogOn type is Local System account, and
the Allow service to Interact with Desktop radio button
is selected. The Hardware profile is the correct one
(default) and is Enabled. Also the Remote Procedure Call
is Started/Automatic/Local System account type.

I have tried experimenting with scheduling MS Outlook,
NoteTab, Windows Media Player, all individually (not at
the same session) and get the 0x8007007a error
consistently.

Any suggestions?

Additional Information:
Status of the Scheduled Task is "Could not Run", as the tasks described were
scheduled to run at User Log On.

Help, anyone-
thanks in advance.

I solved the problem by creating a shortcut for Outlook and pasting it into
the Start Menu/Programs/Startup directory.

This is a satisfactory "work-around" as I had the Task Scheduler setup to
run Outlook upon logon previously, whereas now I get the error and cannot
run program message described below.
