Scheduled Scans

Is it necessary to be logged onto the system for a
scheduled scan to run? I've scheduled the scan to run
nightly, but it never does and I have to run it
manually. If I logon and change the time to test it out,
it runs as expected.

Is this a bug w/ the beta version, or simply the intended
functionality?

The current design of the beta product requires a logged on user for the
scheduled scan to happen. I'm sure that Microsoft is aware that users find
this a deficiency.

Well that's good news. Glad to hear it is intentional.

I thought I had one of those classic mysterious Windows
problems which aren't serious enough to warrant immediate
attention, but grate over time, and which are inevitably
miraculously cured somehow by reinstalling (either the
software in question or Windows itself) some non-
deterministic number of times.

For it to run when logged off, I guess it would have be what is called a
Windows Service.
