I've been using XP only about a month and shortly after set up I scheduled
Disk Clean and Virus Scan for weekly maintenance, as I did on old cvomputer
with 98SE. I discovered a week or so ago, the tasks have never started and
the a message "could not start" appears. What's going on? PS I just learned
from the news group how to schedule defrag, which was not an option like on
98SE. Thanks!

Hi Joe,

Task Scheduler Does Not Run Tasks When "Run As" User Account Has No Password

This log file for Scheduled Tasks is stored in the Windows folder, where it
is used to record the activity of scheduled tasks. You can use the log file
to determine why a task might have stopped, or to check on the status of a
task.
