When running chkdsk I get the notice that it wasnt possible to complete
because the drive is being used by other processes. It asks me if I want
to schedule a scan at the next startup, I agree yith Y(ES). Now the
problem begins, when re-starting Windows CHKDSK doesnt scan (I seem to
remember it does this in DOS) and Windows starts up immediately. Does
anybody what the reason of this could be?
I would be grateful for any input.

I have looked at this before. The command makes a change to the registry to
run the chkdsk (actual entry is autochk /r).

Don't know why registry is not being updated?

Can you run just chdsk /f or /p?
no errors or anything?
