Scheduled Backup

I have a Win2k Server, with service pack 4. I have set
scheduled backups to occur each night but they are
refusing to run. If I open Task Scheduler, it says that
the backup is running but there is no tape activity. I
have tried setting a dummy backup to start a in a few
minutes so I can watch what happens but the backup window
doesn't even appear. Can anyone advise?

If it is NOT running in the context of the logged on user, you won't see it.
My guess is that it is wait for a response to a message.
