I'm running Windows 2000 server. I use MS Backup to backup
my data on 4mm DDS tapes. I used the backup wizard to setup a
scheduled backup and they don't start. No error messages it just
doesn't start. The DDS drive and tapes are good and I can do a manual
backup but not a scheduled one. Any ideas??

What account did you specify that the backup should run under, when
scheduling the task?

The backup was scheduled under admin and the server is always logged on under admin.

The "Task Scheduler" Service must be started.

- Control Panel...
- Administrative Tools...
- Services...
- Task Scheduler

Also check the Event Log (System Log) for service failures.

If you are scheduling a tape backup, use Removable Storage
to make sure that your tape is available in the Backup
media pool.

- Control Panel...
- Administrative Tools...
- Computer Management...
- Removable Storage
