Scanpst.exe usually results in "Only minor inconsistencies were found in this file" Message says: Re

This message is to those forum members who regularly use scanpst.exe to
monitor/maintain the health of their PST file. I use OL 2000 under Windows
XP Home.

I first started using scanpst.exe a few days ago, when I thought I had a
corruption problem (turns out I don't think I did; I must have just
accidentally deleted the items I'm missing). In any event, I've been
running scanpst.exe every 1/2 day or so. My admittedly limited experiences
so far are as follows:

I always get a "no-errors" report when running scanpst.exe immediately after
running it to correct "minor inconsistencies". Yet a few hours later, after
I've added items and deleted items from this PST file, upon running
scanpst.exe again, I inevitably get the "Only minor inconsistencies were
found in this file" message." But then the message goes on to say "repairs
are optional." I don't like taking chances so I always elect to make the
repairs, and then to my dismay, the next time I run scanpst.exe, maybe 1/2
day later, after a fair amount of sending, receiving, and deleting e-mails,
with a few folders added and deleted, I again receive a report that my PST
file has "minor inconsistencies."

Is this pattern similar to your experience? Has anybody ever gotten a "no
errors" report a full week after receiving a "no errors" report, using
Outlook every day during the week? Jay
