Having some problems with ScanPST not fixing my Outlook.pst file which is in
Outlook 2003. It is 1.7GBytes, should the scanpst.exe file dated 7-14-2003
be able to fix these? Can they handle the new larger format pst files
supported in Outlook 2003?

Can you open the PST file at all? Compress it? I presume scanpst.exe is the
one installed by OL2003 - and is this PST file one you created in OL2003
(unicode format) or one you copied from an older Outlook?

The outlook.pst file I have was created in an older Outlook. I used FILE
OPEN in Outlook 2003. Does that convert it to Unicode format? It is
currently 1.71 Gbytes. Should I be ok even though it was orginally created
in Outlook 2000 or 2002 ???

If you created it in an older version, you're still using the old format
w/the 2GB limit (problems usually crop up earlier). Can you open it now? If
so, I would suggest that you create a new PST file in OL2003 (unicode/large
file support) and import the items into that one - then you won't have the
2GB limit (which usually means problems occur between 1.2 - 1.5GB)
