Scanning WIA and VB.NET

I have an application written that scans using a 3rd party TWAIN control -
using Twainpro. Unfortunately quite a few scanners are now coming out that
only support WIA. Anyone know how I can deal with this? Any code around to
enable me to acquire black and white TIFF images?? There does not even seem
to be any 3rd party controls around. Please do not point me to the code on
Codeproject as this does not seem to cover scanners.

Microsoft have a library for WIA. This only supports XP...
