What are you using? My HP scanner scans directly into Microsoft word.

The scanner probably was shipped with an Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
software. This software will have the ability to create either a text file,
RTF file or some even can create a Word DOC file directly. All can be read
by Word for editing and saving. You will have to research the computer and
appropriate manual to see what came with the scanner. If one came with the
scanner it may have already been installed or may still need to be
installed.

Thanks LVTravel, have now sorted the problem, it`s 1st. time use of scanner
and I needed pointing in right direction, also thanks bud.
