Scanning Multi-Page Docs to an Image File

Hello,
Can anyone help me on this problem please?
When I scan multiple pages either to file or straight into Fireworks
from my Dell scanner only one page is viewable. However if I view
the image file in Windows viewer there is a scroll tag to show the
various
pages scanned into the one file. Am I missing something very simple
here? Or; do I have to scan pages individually and save them to
separate file names (which is a pain and defeats the point of a auto-
feed scanner)?
Regards, Guy.

Hello again,
I think I have solved my own question! After posting, I looked through
the group and found a reference to software called 42tag, downloaded
the trial version, and hey presto it opens my image files in multiple
pages! Is this a feature of all scanner software or is it a specialist
scanner software feature?
Regards, Guy.

I do all my multipage (document) scanning to tiff-files using Irfanview
(http://irfanview.com/), a really nice freeware (for personal users)
picture program. It also can edit multipage tiff-files, e.g. changing
page sequence, or adding and deleting pages.
