Scanning into email

I'm stymied. I'm trying to copy a line item from either my HP PSC or a Canon
stand alone scanner to put into an email, either using OE or Live mail but I
cannot accomplish that operation - it is always 'must be associated' and for
some reason
(don't know how?) I cannot do it. How do I take somethiong from a scanner
and put it into an email? In plain, simple instructions please.

Why ask HERE? XP has no ability to send messages AT ALL. You should
ask in a group having to do with a) the software you are scanning with
and/or b) the mail program you are using.
