Scanjet vertical line

I have a HP Scanjet 4850 and recently all of my scans have a vertical yellow line from top to bottom on all scans.

Can this be fixed??

It's a scanner and is about 3 years old.

Ok I dont realy now what it could be might be something to do with the scanner light what are you copying when it happens pictures of documents?

It happens on all scans - light seems to work fine - glass clean etc

Nope, not really ... a scanner is like a photocopier, once the lamp starts to go, unlike a photocopier it's time to get a new scanner.
